//// My Version /////
In this picture my objective is to highlight the sadness,
despair, & loss of hope in his EYES by using dark colors on the
skin so that the gold color (lightest color) in the iris & pupil can
out shine the rest of the face. Furthermore, the glare of
white flash and the impact gives impression that the boy
is holding in tears.
- When using color or charcoal its always important to go from dark paint colors TO lights OR from dark shading to light. WHITE & BLACK ARE ESSENTIAL PAINT COLORS
- A variety of shades of the same color will add depth, texture, and perspective to a picture
- AT TIMES ADDING DIFFERENT COMPLEMENTARY COLORS WHEN THE IMAGE IS DRY CAN ADD AN OUTER GLOW TO THE IMAGE (this will be seen in upcoming posts) If adding fresh color after a finishing gloss has been applied it is difficult to work with due to the fact that the paint will dry to quickly and it will be hard to smooth or smudge.
- Sometimes un common art tools can have the best results in a picture eg: Kleenex to smooth small spaces, a plastic fork to make lines for eyebrows & hair, your nail or the but of a paintbrush to create thick or thin rigid edges...try to experiment on your own
- When drawing eyes the distance between is always one eye width

. OF AN EYE.... I want to point out how in an iris and pupil
you can have multiple colors (dark green, olive green, dark brown,
caramel brown, and gold) that fade into one another....it
almost looks like a masterpiece.
The QUESTION LEFT IS WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT PARTS OF AN EYE ??????
- Iris (Big circle)
- Pupil (Smallest circle within in the big one)
- Catchlight (or flash) (white area fading)
- White part of the eye (x2)
- Upper lash line (thick shape above the eye) = 11 PARTS
- Lower lid thickness (thin line below the eye)
- Upper eyelid (line above the eyelashes)
- Corner eye membrane (x2) (two pieces at the left corner of the eye)
- Eyebrow
